Build AI reports with prompts and references

Configure the service first

Open Settings, choose the active AI service and prepare its model. Apple Intelligence is local when available. External services require your own API configuration; content authorized for analysis is sent to the selected provider. Check the disclosed input scope before starting.

Choose a prompt for the task

Use the prompt selector or open AI Prompt Library. Built-in templates cover different tasks and output structures. Filter and organize prompts, then choose one that fits a meeting or collection. Output language and instruction language belong to the prompt workflow; they are separate from the app language.

Add reference material

Open References for the selected analysis target. Add eligible text, Markdown, PDF, DOCX or RTF material and review its extracted content. Select the scope to include. Sensitive material needs the authorization shown by the app; adding a file to a library does not automatically authorize sending all its content to every provider.

Review and refine the result

Read the report, verify important facts and follow its source citations. Long inputs may use staged processing, with the available progress, cancellation and recovery controls. Edit the report's source when needed; report versions help keep revisions distinct.

Request a visual explanation

Choose a prompt that asks for a supported Mermaid diagram, such as a mind map, flowchart, sequence diagram or Gantt chart. The generated structure depends on the prompt and model. Check that the diagram renders and accurately represents the transcript before exporting it.
